Emerald Pools. Temple of Sinawava - UT, quad (Zion National Park)

January 6, 2023

November 19, 2022

Twin Pines Arch is a sliver of rock extending from one of the cliff bands. It is visible from Hwy-9 if you know where to look; however, it also blends perfectly with the surrounding rock.

Northgate Peaks Trail. The Guardian Angels - UT, quad (Zion National Park)

August 2, 2022

I’m trying to get back into hiking shape; however, it feels like I have a long way to go. I had knee reconstruction surgery toward the end of March. I completed my physical therapy without too much squealing and crying like a ten-year-old girl. Please don’t verify that with the PA; the leg feels good and strong.

Progeny Peak. Springdale East - UT, quad (Zion National Park)

March 9, 2021

I reach another saddle and take another rest. It's been a few years since I climbed Progeny Peak, and I don't quite remember taking so many breaks, but I love every minute as I cross the last remaining sandy area and reach the summit.

Deertrap Mountain via Stave Springs Trailhead - Zion National Park

June 7, 2019

I certainly don’t begrudge somebody from enjoying something I have had the opportunity to enjoy my entire life, but after looking at pictures from Memorial Day 2019 with hours-long lines and queues set up to help avoid congestion and provide additional safety we are indeed loving our national parks to death.

Scout Lookout - Zion National Park, UT

January 11, 2019

I eat lunch and enjoy the quiet solitude of this stunning lookout.  Truly one of my favorite places on earth.  As I hike back along the trail, the changing sun reflects beautifully off the canyon peaks.
