Twin Pines Arch is a sliver of rock extending from one of the cliff bands. It is visible from Hwy-9 if you know where to look; however, it also blends perfectly with the surrounding rock.

Twin Pines Arch Loop. Springdale East - Ut, quad (Zion National Park)

The ridgeline ends with an almost sheer drop to the highway below; the elevation and location allow for a straight-line view as the road twists and turns in both directions. It is a stunning viewpoint, and I sit in the shade to drink some water and soak it all in.

Ashdown Gorge via Crystal Springs and Potato Hollow

We cross another trail and continue on towards Potato Hollow. The trail makes a switchback and everyone groans as we realize we need to climb another ridgeline before our final long descent to the head of Ashdown Gorge.

Shakespeare Arch/Sentinel Trail - Kodachrome Basin, UT

A large swath of sagebrush, hundreds of feet wide, have debris among their branches.  It's easy to spot the path the water took on its descent down the barren hillside and I'm glad I missed the show.

Arches Trail - Castro Canyon, UT quad

The trail switchbacks through massive hoodoos along a fairly steep trail.  The angle of the sun dropping into the western sky it setting the red rock on fire and I am in awe of this stunning ridgeline.
