Since December 2023, I've written several journal entries and essays, exploring my creative process and specifically trying to understand how I might overcome what I perceive as dull or boring prose.
My review started with a Bryan Collins article on George Carlin(1) and has wormed its way from thinking I need to lighten up my writing to changing my entire content creation strategy.
A part of that change includes a desire to re-engage with artificial intelligence (Microsoft Edge Copilot) in content creation. I've long maintained that the evolution of AI will create an extinction-level event for note-taking knowledge management systems.(2) We will need to adopt large language models to quiz our understanding of a topic rather than gathering sufficient knowledge to create anything from scratch.
So, I asked Copilot to help me craft a transition statement from boring to passionate journal entries.
Absolutely, I'd be happy to help...
1. "Embracing a New Chapter": "As I turn the page on my past writings, I find myself embracing a new chapter, one where the ink of passion begins to flow freely, replacing the monotony of the past."
2. "Igniting the Spark": "In the quiet corners of my mind, a spark has been ignited. It's a spark that yearns for more than just words on a page - it seeks passion, vibrancy, and life."
3. "The Dawn of Passion": "The dawn of a new day brings with it a renewed sense of purpose. The sun rises, and with it, my writing begins to glow with the warmth of passion, casting aside the shadows of boredom."
Feel free to adapt these phrases to suit your style and the context of your journal entry. Happy writing! 😊
And so, as I turn the page on my past writing.. where the ink of passion (snort) begins to flow freely (haha), it's a spark that yearns (bahaha) to be more than just words on a page. The sun rises, and my writing begins to glow (snort, snort) with the warmth of passion, casting aside the shadows of boredom. (OMG! bahahahaha!)
Passion, it turns out, is like roasting a marshmallow...
It's boring until it isn't.
