I didn’t read many articles this week (I scanned a few), opting instead to unplug from the news for the week and enjoy Thanksgiving. All articles from the Wall Street Journal will require a subscription (sorry); most blog posts are from writers that have piqued my interest for one reason or another.
Books
I, Asimov: A Memoir by Isaac Asimov. Reading. 53% complete.
Lost in Time. by A.G. Riddle. DNF. 36% complete. (did not finish)
Infinite. by Brian Freeman. Finished. I give Infinite a four-star rating. Generally, the difference between a four-star and a five-star rating is whether the book could pull me away from everything else. When I find myself reading a book during the last 15 minutes of work or leaning on the cart waiting in line at the grocery store, I know I have a five-star rated book. For comparison, I’ve never given a book a three-star rating. I don’t read very far in a book if I am not enjoying it. A book that is only three stars would never hold my interest long enough to read it thoroughly.
Younger Next Year. by Chris Crowley and Henry S. Lodge. Reading. 51% complete.
The Tempest by Peter Cawdron. Started. 41% complete. As you can tell, I’m a big fan of Peter Cawdron, especially his First Contact series. Each of the 21 books is a stand-alone novel that explores the idea of first contact with aliens. The book series requires an incredible imagination to write, and I have enjoyed all of them save one (Clowns).
