Day 08 2018/2019 - Eagle Point Resort - Utah

It is a beautiful morning as I wake up to powder alerts from Ski Resorts across Utah. Brian Head is reporting the least amount of snow at only 1” inch and is expecting high winds today. Eagle Point, however, is reporting 12” new inches with a storm total of 24” inches.

POW!

POW!

Other than holidays, Eagle Point is only open weekends, which means the 24” inches of powder will be untracked and available to all who are willing to drive to the resort on Friday morning. I packed my FJ and headed for the door. The road is a bit icy, and I’m glad I have a 4x4 wheel drive vehicle. Even though I pulled out of Cedar City almost as soon as I rolled out of bed, I am still the last man to arrive at the parking lot.

The powder is incredible, and I get more than a few great runs. My GPS tracker paused during the morning runs, so I didn’t get an accurate count, and I made more than a few turns after lunch until my quadriceps burned.

What a beautiful day. I was happy to note that all the cars parked around me in the lot were gone.
